Home stretch. The opening is Saturday night!
I finally have truly made the time to begin chipping away at this incredible work by Doug Hofstadter. This was a gift from my friend, Ryan in 2006, and I am so grateful to have been given such a thoughtful gift. Thank you, Ryan!
One year ago, I was stranded in Salt Lake City with a broken van, and began a series of frenetic drawings based on technique given to me by an older artist mentor and friend named Sky Jones who I met there. These drawings, now numbering in the hundreds, have evolved into the artwork for Death I and Death II. The intention has been to take all of the drawings and use them as studies for paintings such as these which I just began. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Sky for helping me to rediscover my voice.
Dad’s guitar, Ivan. I am so excited to share the new album, Death II with you very soon. Final mixing is next. #houseofstonedeathii
Giving these old beauties a facelift. I’ve lived in these shoes for the last 3 years on tour and it feels good to give em some love.
